Description:

A garden cookbook which centres around seasonal fruit and vegetables.  It’s not exclusively vegetarian but the vast majority of recipes are and if you are a pescatarian there are dishes which you will very much appreciate. It contains over 450 mouthwatering recipes.

Review:

This is a beautiful recipe book which helps us all make the most of seasonal ingredients.  These days availability is so vast that it is difficult to remember the ideal time of year we should be buying certain vegetables and fruit, however I’m sure we have all experienced that when we get it right and buy local fresh produce it tastes much nicer than the out of season strawberries which look amazing but taste of nothing.

This book is split into two month sections which each provide us with a list of produce we should be eating in that time, an explanation of preparing the produce which is very useful for the things we are not used to cooking with.

And to top it off Jonathan Buckley has wonderfully complimented the book with beautiful photos, many from Sarah Raven’s own garden.

Another must for the bookshelf!

Example Recipes:

- Purple sprouting broccoli with lemon and hazelnuts
- Barbecued stuffed chillies
- Baked aubergines with mozzarella
